To whomever is responsible for damaging our front window:
First, I am sorry that you are at a place in your life where causing property damage feels necessary. Whether your intention was to break in, or to simply leave a mark, I feel for you. I know what it is like to be struggling and feel like you can’t get ahead. Believe it or not, I have been there, too. I was in a dark place once, and it wasn’t until I decided to take responsibility for my life and my circumstances that things started to change in a positive direction. It took a lot of hard work and commitment to healing, but in time, I was able to turn my life around. You can too.
Regarding the details of smashing the windows of our business, this is an expensive and very impactful event for us. This business is the result of ten plus years of hard work. There were many times along the way where I wasn’t sure how I would make ends meet, or if what I was creating would come to fruition. I stayed the course, and eventually, good things happened. I am aware that owning a public business comes with inherent risk, like vandalism or burglary. And I am well prepared for those. I now have cameras installed in both windows, so if you choose to do this again, you will be caught. Period. I also have a rock solid alarm system, so had you managed to break all the way in, the cops would have been here very quickly and you would likely be in jail right now. And if you were in jail, it would be the right place for you to be considering what you have done.
This business is a place of healing and connection in this community. We put a lot of work into making sure that everyone we have the opportunity to care for feels loved and accepted as they are. We also believe in truth, setting healthy boundaries and personal responsibility. So, I would like to extend my sincerest compassion for what is happening in your life that has caused you to want to damage my business in this way. I am certain that whatever you are going through isn’t easy. But I also want to tell you that it is important to take responsibility for your life and your actions. If you choose to continue to do things like this, you will have to face the consequences. It may not be from me, or any of the other businesses in this building, but the day will come when you will have to reconcile with choices you have made. I hope this day comes sooner than later for you, because ultimately the sooner you can deal with it, the better chance you have at healing and finding peace in your life.
My wish for you is that you find your way through this difficult time. That you are able to be honest with yourself about your choices and your current trajectory in life. If you reach a place where you are ready to embark on a different path, we will gladly cheer you on. I would even be open to you as a practice member in this office. Let it be a healing and nurturing space for you, too. Remove interference to your nervous system so that you can live a clear and connected life. That is what chiropractic is all about.
Sincerely,
The Team at Sweeney Family Chiropractic
